I started working in the mental health field in 2013. After graduating from the University of Utah with my Bachelor's degrees in Psychology and Gender Studies, I acquired a job at the University Neuropsychiatric Institute. The work I did was fulfilling and empowering. My interest in research and mental health grew over the years and then I pursued a Master's degree in social work.
As I trained in school as a mental health therapist, I was able to join one of the most competitive internships in my program at the University of Utah Counseling Center. There, my love for working with individuals and helping them meet their goals paved the way for where I am today.
Working in mental health for over 10 years, with two of those years in Substance Abuse, has helped me develop a stronger understanding of vulnerability and human compassion. Also, throughout my education, I focused on women's rights, LGBTQ+, trauma, and intersectional identities. I work with clients who suffer from trauma, mood disorders, grief, and relationship conflict.
When I am not working, I enjoy watching movies and football, running, cooking, writing, traveling, and trying new food! I also love hanging out with my family, two dogs, and friends.
In 2013, I began studying mental health and social work at Brigham Young University-Hawaii. I love the island and the people of Hawaii! While there, I had the privilege to learn and work with many different cultures.
After graduating, I moved to Utah to continue my journey working in different positions including the Therapeutic Residential Treatment Center for teenagers and Huntsman Mental Health Institute. I developed such a passion for working with people and helping people improve their mental health I decided to go back to the University of Utah for my master’s degree in Social Work.
Since then, I have worked at the Family Support Center and Huntsman Mental Health Institute. My love for working with individuals and helping them overcome adversity has fueled my passion to continue to work to help the community. My focus and areas of expertise include LQBTQIA+ topics, trauma work, healthy relationships, and anxiety.
Outside of work, I enjoy gardening, house renovations, playing video games, playing with my dogs, traveling, playing sports, visiting local breweries, and hanging out with family and friends.

For the past year, Q has been my supervisor as I started and finished my graduate degree for my MSW at the University of Utah. Q has been a supervisor that has allowed me to not only grow professionally but personally as well.
Q provides space for both supervisor and supervisee to come on common ground and learn from each other. Q has made me feel like I am equal to her and has given me opportunities to teach her what I know and guide me through my intern experiences with an influential demeanor. This is an incredibly unique characteristic of Q, who allows there to be a relationship that is built on respect and trust.
Q has shown herself to be a reliable supervisor who creates room for learning opportunities that lead to critical milestone developments in professional development. Q allows for growth that starts building confidence in personal and professional growth in the intimidating world of clinical work.
Q's supervision experiences have left a lasting effect on my development as a social worker. She allows for growth in areas that I didn't know needed developing, and I thank her for her standards as an ethical and compassionate social worker.
